Overview

Anyone who has been to Goa will swear by its abundant natural beauty. So much so that no part of it has been left unexplored. However, as it is more known for its beaches two regions stand out more as significant tourist attractions namely North and South Goa. While there are many popular places like Mapusa and Anjuna in North Goa, South Goa has more variety. Down south you have some offbeat and hidden beaches as well as nature’s wonders like the famous Dudhsagar waterfalls. Sure thing unlike the glamorous and noisy North Goa South Goa is not everyone’s cup of tea but if you have a penchant for things quiet and classic then you are in for a treat. If you are keen on exploring the Southern part of Goa then you have come to the right place.

Best Places to Visit in South Goa

Palolem Beach

Hands down one of the best and most popular beaches in South Goa, Palolem will not disappoint you. Stretching a mile-long this beach has a quiet vibe and a picturesque landscape lined with fishing boats and shacks. Palolem beach also has some of the best Goan seafood. Try boating into the sea. You can even boat to the nearby Monkey island and reach there in about 15mins. There are beautiful rocks near the shore where you can hop and click pictures.

Backwater Kayaking

Goa quite surprisingly has its own backwater at a few spots here and there. The hub or starting point of kayaking in South Goa is at Palolem beach. The kayaking starts from the left corner of the beach in front of the chapel and goes inward towards the backwaters. Canoes are also available which are similar to a kayak with the difference being that a canoe can be ridden by only one person. You can go kayaking for about 50 mins for as low as 200 rs. To have the best experience take the 3-hour kayak route. The Backwaters will take you through mangroves and different species of birds. Among the variety of birds found on the ride notable are kingfisher, eagles, kites, and cormorant among others.

There is another kayaking route that goes to Monkey Island in the sea. If you start early in the morning you can even get a chance to go near dolphins before heading to Monkey Island. This ride usually costs around 300 per person.

Butterfly Beach

Deriving its name due to the presence of thousands of butterflies on the hilltop of this beach, the butterfly beach is one of the most exotic locations in South Goa. Not only that has a perfect semi-circular shape surrounded by hills and rocks that gives the feeling that you are on a beautiful isolated island. This is what makes it one of the places to visit in Goa.

Dudhsagar Waterfalls

If there was one must-do non-beach thing you have to choose then go for Dudhsagar waterfalls. Located in Bhagwan Mahavir Wildlife Sanctuary in the southeast part of Goa, the Dudhsagar waterfalls are one of the highest waterfalls in India. They are notably known for their multi-layer cascades which are enhanced due to the presence of a railway bridge right in front. So, whenever a train passes, a stunning visual welcomes both the train passengers as well onlookers outside the train.

You can either take government jeeps from Culem or you can trek from Culem train tracks towards the bridge in front of the falls. If you have arrived in Goa during June to September or November to December period then you should give Dudhsagar waterfalls a try as it is one of the best places to visit in Goa.

Cabo de Rama

Cabo de Rama is a fort that was built by the Portuguese in the 18th century. Although this place has only a chapel that is of historical significance and no exhibits, it is still breathtakingly beautiful and quiet. Don’t expect a hip crowd here but go if you are a nature lover.

Colva Beach

Colva Beach is only one of the best places to visit in Goa if you are in the South. It is a clean beach with a decent crowd. There are good restaurants and water sports available at the beach. The sand is whitish which adds an attractive element to the beach.

Agonda Fort and Beach

Benaulim

In South Goa, one of the places not to be missed out is Benaulim. Among the places here, two must-visit are Benaulim Beach and the Church of St. John the Baptist. Benaulim beach is favored even by locals as it is a quiet and peaceful beach. It is serene to look at and this is the reason why many couples get wed here.

So, would you like to know more about how to get a job in Canada from India? Let’s begin.

How to Target Job Opportunities in Canada from India?

The common mistake that people make is to search or ask for the total cost for Canada PR from India instead of working on building their profile. You should not do this and concentrate on creating a good resume as per Canadian standards before getting bothered by the cost of Canada PR. First things first, Curriculum Vitae or CV is not how Canadians refer to a resume. So, it is always a resume when you are seeking a job in Canada from India or any other country. The most common types of resume formats in Canada are the Traditional Reverse Chronological resume, Strategic Functional Resume, and Balanced Hybrid Resume. The core idea behind using one of these formats is to give a unique layout to the resume and stand out among different job applications. For instance- you will put your recent job experience first while making a resume in reverse chronological format. This kind of resume is ideal for people who have thorough experience in their field. On the other hand, hybrid or functional resumes are good for freshers as they are more focused on skills and qualifications instead of experience. Whatever format you decide on, do not forget to add hard (technical skills), soft skills, and professional qualifications as no recruiter would like your resume without them.

How to Stand Out Your Resume to Your Employer

You should write your resume in such a way that it impresses the employer in the first thirty seconds as they might not give it a minute even. It has to be concise but include everything that draws attention. Pro tip- Bullet points are always helpful to fetch the eye of the reader as compared to long sentences written in a paragraph. Proper formatting also goes a long way in impressing the employer. Now, the most important thing is to customize the resume as per the ATS i.e., the Applicant Tracking System used within Canada. Basically, you need to add all the Boolean searches or keywords used by Canadian recruiters in your resume to appear in their searches. In addition, do not hesitate to add a volunteer experience as it creates a great impact on recruiters. Lastly, remember you are applying for Canadian jobs, so avoid any kind of grammatical error in your professional representation document aka your resume. Proofread at least thrice after you are done creating your document. Once your resume is ready you can start applying for different jobs through reputed job websites in Canada. Other than LinkedIn, you can look for a job in Canada at CareerBuilder, Eluta, Jobboom, and Indeed. You will soon get a good response from employers and then, you can give interviews and showcase your proficiency in your selected domain. Once the job offer is received, you will be eligible to go ahead to apply for a work permit or you can also opt for Canada PR under the Express Entry program.

Summary

Remember, every lucrative job begins by applying with a good resume. You can fulfill your dream of working and dwelling in your favorite country. This path will also reduce the total cost for Canada PR India. You will definitely prefer the assistance of a reliable immigration company to facilitate you in this process of finding a job in Canada from India. Create your resume and begin your search for professionals in the immigration sector.
